History

Established in 1989.

Although we have been in business for over 20 years, we have not lost our love for the job or sight of what is most important; taking excellent care of all of our patients. We stay on top of current changes and technological advancements in veterinary medicine to be able to bring them to our clinic. We are a small operation who really care about what we do and that is more like a family. Hayward is a healthy, growing community and we are proud to be a part of it.

As owner and head veterinarian for over 20 years at Alta Vista Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Alexa Budde has a truly vested interest in the well being of all the patients that come to see her. She feels that by educating her clients about preventative care, diagnostic, diet and treatment options she will keep them healthier for longer making all concerned happy! Dr. Budde is a UC Davis graduate as well as graduating from the University of Nairobi in Kenya. While in East Africa, she had the opportunity to work with field biologists from many different countries and multiple agencies including the United Nations FAD. She has worked at the Peninsula Humane Society specializing in cruelty investigative work and with their wildlife rehab center. Dr. Budde has also served as the head of Clinical Emergency in San Jose, but her true passion is her focus on companion animals. She is a real life Dr. Doolittle.
