History

Established in 2005.

Nicole started caring for animals professionally, in 1999 through a fantastic Pet Sitting/Dog Walking organization in Simi Valley called Animal Nannies. She was also on the Board of Directors for a non-profiti n LA called Kitten Rescue. She did quite a bit of TNR, adoption and critical care for both dogs and cats, as well as volunteer work at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT. In 2003, she worked as an animal caretaker at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. In 2005, she opened her own Animal Care Business, based out of Port Hueneme, CA. In 2010 she joined Ventura Pet Sitters as an Independent Contractor. Since Mica is started her own cat sitting business in Santa Barbara, Nicole has taken over the Ventura Pet Sitters clientele and merged the business with her own organization--Anacapa Animal and Home Care.

As an adult she worked full time at Walt Disney Pictures and Television. It was there that she and fellow crew members began discovering numerous abandoned feral cats and kittens in the alleys of the city.  It was then that she started doing part time pet sitting and animal rescue with Pet Stop Rescue and Animal Nannies.

Nicole learned the art of TNR (trap, neuter, and release) and proceeded to trap, alter, release and feed feral cats on her own.  She bottle-fed several orphaned kittens and eventually adopted them out to loving homes.  This was so successful that she continued advertising dogs and cats for adoption at Petfinder and 1800-Save-A-Pet.
Nicole later joined the Los Angeles based volunteer organization, Kitten Rescue.  She served on Kitten Rescue's Board of Directors where she created and edited their first newsletters, hosted weekend adoption events, administered vaccines and medications and fostered homeless animals until they were adopted.
