Whether it's just another work day or you're heading out of town, we understand how hard it is be away from your BFF. Let Dogs of Berkeley put your mind at ease while you're away by giving your pup a stay-cation as a guest at one of our in-home boarding locations. In-home Dog Boarding: We specialize in cage-free dog boarding in a loving home away from home for your best four-legged pal. During your dog's stay with us they become part of the family. This means that someone is with your pup 24/7. They're even welcome at dinner parties with our dog loving friends! This makes our unique, in-home boarding service second to none. Our service also includes a complimentary daily walk. Pickup and drop off service for boarding clients is available for $30 each way.
History
Established in 2009.
Shortly after Judith started Dogs of Berkeley in 2009 Tom got involved part time in the boarding side of the business. He came on full time as a partner in July 2010. Judith left day-to-day operation of the business in 2013 and moved to NJ to care for her aging parents . Boarding and meet&greets for boarders are at Tom's home in Oakland and at 2 'satellite' homes in central Berkeley and N. Oakland. Our satellite homes belong to dog-loving friends who regularly take 1-4 dogs when Tom's home is full. Tom offers pickup and drop off service for boarders to all 3 boarding locations for $15 each way.

Judith and Tom met and became friends in 1993 at Lalime's restaurant in Berkeley, where Judith was the pastry chef and Tom was just starting a new career after graduating from the California Culinary Academy in SF. They and a core group of Lalime's coworkers have remained close friends ever since, through career changes, moves away from and back to the bay area, and romantic relationships. All of those things come and go, but friends keep going and going and going!
