We are proud to be among only 14% of veterinary facilities in the country accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (A.A.H.A). This means that we voluntarily chose to be evaluated (and are continually evaluated) on over 900 stringent criteria of quality care that are continually updated to reflect the best standards in patient care. East Lake has received multiple awards including "Practice of Excellence" by the Veterinary Medical Publishing Group, "Best In Dallas" by the Dallas Observer, and received the "Best Vets" award from D Magazine. We care for dogs, cats, and even potbellied pigs and birds. For your convenience, you can make an appointment or leave your pet with us for the day. History

Established in 1992.

Originally located in the shopping center on the corner of Buckner and Northcliff, East Lake has been at the current location since 1999 and received the national "Hospital Design" award from the Veterinary Publishing Group when it was built. East Lake has also won the Practice of Excellence award and have been selected as "best vet" by D Magazine and the Dallas Observer on multiple occasions.

Business Owner

Dallas native and veterinarian, Karen Fling, is a tireless animal advocate and a great believer in community outreach. A graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Karen Fling has always viewed her role in the community as much more than a medical caregiver and emphasizes education in and outside of her practice. As owner of East Lake Veterinary Hospital in Dallas for over 20 years, Dr. Fling has incorporated all aspects of her philosophy in its design: pets are members of the family. They should have the best medical care and individualized treatment during their visit. Dr. Fling has been active within her profession as president of the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association and its non-profit counterpart which she co-founded, the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Foundation.
