Garden Oaks Veterinary Clinic is one of the few veterinary hospitals to earn accreditation status with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Currently, no others in our area have achieved this accreditation. This prestigious recognition means that we have been evaluated on approximately 900 rigorous veterinary standards outlined by AAHA to ensure that we provide the highest quality of patient care and client service. This status is only earned by 12% of veterinary hospitals across the United States and Canada, and it gives our clients the reassurance that we mean what we say. History

Established in 2015.

Dr. Stephen Chmaitelli opened Garden Oaks Veterinary Clinic in May of 2015. A Houston native, Dr. Chmaitelli graduated from Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. He opened his first practice in East Texas, but his heart was always in Houston. Dr. Chmaitelli eventually sold his practice and moved back to Houston where he worked as a relief veterinarian at several clinics while Garden Oaks Veterinary Clinic was in the works. In December 2016, Garden Oaks Veterinary Clinic was accredited with the American Animal Hospital Association. This accomplishment is only held by 12% of veterinary practices in the US and Canada. Dr. Stephen Chmaitelli, a Houston native, grew up in southeast Houston. As a young boy, Dr. Chmaitelli spent ample time at his grandfather's ranch where he was tasked with feeding and medical treatments for the cattle. These responsibilities and experiences put him on a lifelong path towards Veterinary Medicine. After graduating from South Houston High School in 1993, he attended Texas A&M University. Dr. Chmaitelli obtained early acceptance into veterinary school at Texas A&M and graduated in 2000. The philosophy and standard of care set by AAHA is the benchmark by which he practices, and he is very proud of his team to have earned accreditation status as of December 2016. To this day, Dr. Chmaitelli still enjoys his profession and has learned to balance it well with life. He enjoys playing piano, guitar, singing, and staying active by playing semi-pro rugby for Houston United.
