The Houston Humane Society is dedicated to, and working towards, ending cruelty, abuse and the overpopulation of animals while providing the highest quality of life to those brought to us for care. We receive no federal, state, or local funding and rely solely on donations and special events. HHS is committed to creating the awareness of animal welfare throughout the Houston community by providing numerous animal welfare programs for Houston area residents and their pets, including pet adoptions, humane education, Harris County Animal cruelty investigations, and Houston's Low-Cost Full-Service Animal Wellness Clinic.
History
Established in 1958.
The Houston Humane Society was started by volunteers in 1958. Over the years, we've grown into a trusted animal welfare organization that provides low cost, high quality pet care at our Animal Wellness Clinic, top notch adoption program, offering animal cruelty investigation services, education programs, and so much more. We help nearly 50,000 pets each year.
