History

Established in 2011.

Nordhoff Veterinary Hospital has been providing exceptional veterinary medicine to the communities of Chatsworth, Canoga Park, and West Hills for over 30 years. In 2011, Dr. Nicoleta Popescu took over the practice, implementing the most current technology, research and continuing education available in the field of veterinary medicine. Our practice features a modern surgical suite, cold laser therapy, digital x-rays, and ultrasound technology. But more importantly our doctors, nurses, and client care staff all chose the veterinary field due to a deep and abiding love of animals and a desire to educate, guide, and serve their families. We strive to direct that passion into everything we do here at Nordhoff Veterinary Hospital, starting with the health of your pet. AAHA accredited!

Business Owner

Dr. Nicoleta Popescu was born in Romania into a family of teachers. She inherited her great love of animals from her father who taught veterinary medicine for 50 years and the love for teaching from her mother who taught children to read and write for 40 years. So very naturally, after completing veterinary school Dr. Popescu continued to work in the same University teaching veterinary students microscopic anatomy.

In 1997 Dr. Popescu settled permanently in the US. She worked as a veterinary technician for 1.5 years, completed an additional year of veterinary school at University of Columbia Missouri, and then interned at Animal Specialty Group in Glendale. She continued to hone her diagnostic skills at hospitals throughout the Los Angeles area for the next 15 years.

In 2011, Dr. Popescu was thrilled to fulfill her dream of owning her own practice here at NVH.
