We work at a number of locations around the Bay Area and each of our clinics is supervised by an on-site, licensed veterinarian. We offer safe, appropriate, affordable dental cleaning for dogs and cats without the use of anesthesia. Our procedure includes sub-gingival cleaning, as well as polishing of the teeth. Our priority is the well-being of the animals we see and the long-term condition of their teeth (even those for whom this particular procedure isn't appropriate). We take pride in offering real education to pet-owners on how to improve their pet's oral health.

History

Established in 2001.

After receiving training in 2001, Maia started the business and worked solo for many years. In 2015, Verena joined Pettooth and has contributed her skill and knowledge as a human dentist. We are a great team, and really enjoy working together. We feel it is important to educate clients about their pets' oral hygiene and encourage a pragmatic, long-term approach to care. Dental hygiene is not rocket science! There is so much that a pet-owner can do themselves to improve their dog or cat's oral health; they usually just need a little instruction. We are dedicated to ensuring the care we provide is actually appropriate. Many animals need a dental cleaning under anesthesia. We turn away a significant % that come to us for the first time, because they need more than the procedure we offer- but these pet-owners leave us with a better understanding of their pet's oral condition and how they can improve it. These are some of our best customers after they return for follow-up care.
