SNAP is a publicly supported animal welfare organization with a mission to prevent the suffering and death of companion animals and to enrich the human-animal bond by providing excellent, accessible and affordable spay/neuter and veterinary care. We provide spay/neuter surgery for dogs and cats and wellness services such as vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, flea & tick preventative, microchipping, and more. We DO NOT treat ill or wounded animals. Please contact a full-service veterinary clinic if your animal is sick or injured.
History
Established in 1993.
SNAP started in 1993 as part of the Fund for Animals organization. It became a separate entity in 1994. SNAP was granted 501(c)(3) nonprofit status by the IRS in June of 1999. SNAP also has a stationary clinic in Pasadena, TX, and stationary and mobile clinics in San Antonio, TX. Our donors and supporters have enabled SNAP to spay/neuter approximately 705,929 animals since the organization was founded in 1993.
