We Cater To Cats And Their Owners. Named as one of Chicagoland's best veterinary practices by Chicago magazine, we have been providing the best of veterinary medical care for cats exclusively for over 25 years. We do so in an environment of peace and tranquility where cats can better thrive and be restored to health without the stress of barking dogs and lots of noise. All cats prefer calm and quiet but it is no more important than when they are sick or away from home. Comfy beds, delicious treats and catnip are a few of the other amenities we provide to reassure them that they safe and secure.

Established in 1989.
The Cat Practice was started in 1989 by Jennifer Malin, DVM. In 2007, it was bought by Dr. Lori Coughlin. We have trained veterinary technicians and receptionists all here to take the best care of your cat as possible.

Dr. Lori Coughlin was graduated from Kansas State University in 1993, and has been an all feline veterinarian since 1995, when she began to work for Dr. Jennifer Malin, original owner of The Cat Practice. After practicing at Arlington Cat Clinic for 8 years, she returned to Oak Park and bought The Cat Practice in 2007.
In her free time, she reads,plays sudoku, belly dances, and spends time with her husband Mike and her family of cats, including 2 FIV +cats.
