History

Established in 1975.

The practice is owned by Drs. AJ & Marianne Regnier who have over 40 years of combined Veterinary experience. The practice was originally owned by Dr. Ridgeway followed by the renowned Dr. James H. Gray who practiced in Ventura for over 25 years. Dr. Gray was a wonderful veterinarian and a pillar of the community. We were all saddened by his unfortunate passing. He will truly be missed by so many. The hospital has gone through some tough times since Dr. Grays' passing, but with the recent infusion of a fresh remodel, installation of all new, state of the art medical equipment and a wonderful husband-wife team of veterinarians, it's back on top again. Truly a marvel of modern veterinary medicine tempered by reasonable prices and most importantly doctors and staff that treat your beloved canine and feline family members with the utmost in compassion, respect and care.

AJ Regnier
A homegrown Ventura, CA native. Six years of service in US Navy with honorable discharge. Multiple tours of combat duty in 1st Persian Gulf conflict. Attended Ventura College for 3 years of undergrad maintaining a 4.0 GPA and remaining on the Dean's list all 3 years. Last year of undergraduate performed at Colorado State University while maintaining 4.0 GPA and making Dean's list there also. Accepted to Colorado State University Veterinary College without undergraduate degree based on strength of application. Multiple scholarships for academic achievement awarded during 4 years of veterinary school. Graduated with honors in 1997. Significant experience gained while working at a variety of critical care, emergency and day practices before suffering a severe spinal injury in 2007. After 6 surgeries in the last 3 years he is finally ready to return to his true passion: helping small animals and their owners enjoy life!
