Dr. Olson was born and raised in Salina, Kansas the son of a veterinarian.   He was active in 4-H, enjoyed making collections of anything found outside, church activities, summer swimming, band and orchestra, gymnastics, time on the farm, hunting and fishing and summer family vacations in Colorado all were part of life growing up.  He graduated from KU in May of 1979 and began veterinary school at K-State the following fall.  During his years in veterinary school he maintained his life balance by working as a houseboy at the Delta Delta Delta sorority (where he met his future wife Sarah) and crewing his roommates sailboat on Milford Lake.  The balance of school, "work" and recreation served him well with his graduation as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1983.  Chuck and Sarah have three grown and successful children and one grandson with more to come if it were up to them.  They are active members of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, which has been a blessed to their family.
