Our goal is to create a safe, fun, and loving environment for each and every Woofwalks dog. Our service differs from the others because we integrate basic manners and obedience into every hike. We work on heeling, recall, as well as socialization skills. All our clients are given preferred status for our in-home boarding services, from reservations to an immediate discount for being a weekly dog walking client. Boarding is in a cozy home environment and daily exercise is included in the cost. Our in-home boarding provides the structure that dogs crave and many of our clients have seen a marked improvement in their dogs from just a couple of nights at the Casa de Woofwalks.

History

Established in 2000.

Woofwalks began in 2000, when I used to walk my two dogs, Scout & Giotto, every day out at Pt. Isabel. I remember the first time I saw a dog walker and thought to myself, "That's what I need to be doing!" I started my business in the back of my '93 Honda Civic Hatchback (which I still use on occasion today) and slowly started getting clients. Eventually, one of our clients sadly had to give up her German Shepherd, Boris, and asked us if we could help re-home him. We just loved him, & he was already well integrated with our pack, so he became a permanent part of the Woofwalks family. It was obvious Boris had some aggression issues, but it was assumed that once he was in a stable and loving home they would eventually go away. Unfortunately they didn't. He eventually bit someone, and we knew we had to get serious training. We found an amazing trainer who offered a "boot camp," and that was the magic we needed. Once I saw how much it changed Boris, I knew that would be my life's work.

Business Owner

I was the Office Manager for Woofwalks for over 10 years and have taken over as the Owner as of Oct.1, 2023! I have spent my entire life around dogs and also started a non-profit dog rescue in 2013, fostering dozens of dogs over the years. I also have completed several canine behavior courses, strengthening my knowledge of dogs to better assist our walkers and pet sitters. I know the importance of proper exercise and care for our beloved dogs and take pride in the services that Woofwalks offers.
